From chemical engineer to trading teacher
I graduated in Chemical Technology from Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Three years working in that field taught me an early lesson: a good degree does not automatically lead to the life you want. A sales course opened a different door, and in 2012 I entered trading through a gold brokerage firm in Vietnam.
Over the next decade I worked in sales, analysis, training and management at international brokers. In 2020, as a Country Manager, I decided to leave the CFD business for a path I believed was more sustainable: international commodity derivatives, a field licensed in Vietnam. I founded a company that became a trading member of the Mercantile Exchange of Vietnam, later sold it to a financial group, and went on to train traders and serve as sales director at another member firm.
Translating books shaped how I teach
In my early years I focused on technical analysis books: reading charts, building systems, managing risk. I became one of the first translators to bring trading books into Vietnamese, and have translated more than 26 titles so far, including Naked Forex.
The further I went, the more I turned to the inner side of the craft: trading psychology, then meditation, and finally philosophy, through four sources: the Four Noble Truths, the Noble Eightfold Path, the Tao Te Ching and Stoicism. That journey is why my courses today are built on two layers: first principles reasoning for the technical side, and those four philosophical sources for risk management and trading psychology. Milestones
- Translator of more than 26 trading books into Vietnamese. Some of the English originals: Naked Forex, The Consistent Trader, Come into My Trading Room, Trend Following Made Easy, Best Loser Wins, Supply and Demand Trading and Strength in the Stillness.
- First speaker at WikiExpo Vietnam (2019), and the first member of WikiEliteClub Vietnam.
- Guest on the finance and business news programme of VTV1, Vietnam's national television channel.
- Guest lecturer at Trade Union University, the Banking Academy of Vietnam, the University of Economics and Business at Vietnam National University Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade.
- Currently teaches Risk Management and Trading Psychology at Green Chart, a Vietnamese provider of CMT (Chartered Market Technician) exam preparation courses.
- Author of the Vietnamese programmes Tôi là Trader and Kỳ Vọng Dương. Since 2012 I have trained and shared knowledge with thousands of students, clients and partners.
What we are open about
I hold no academic finance qualification. My path has been practice, not certificates, and certified expertise sits with our partners. I teach full time, and I teach the English courses in English.
